The South African Competition Commission said it had sued Meta Platforms, which owns Facebook and WhatsApp. In a statement, the regulator accused Meta of “abusing its dominant position by taking restrictive actions designed to prevent competitors or potential competitors from entering, participating and expanding in the market.”
