Soy traders push to soften ban on buying Amazon produce
Multinational grain traders operating in Brazil are seeking to weaken an agreement that bans buying soybeans from farms located on deforested land in the Amazon rainforest. Soy traders signed up to the ‘Amazon soy moratorium’ in the mid-2000s, pledging to stop buying soy from Amazon farms that were deforested.
