T-Mobile US said SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket on Tuesday carrying the first set of Starlink satellites that can transmit phone signals from space directly to smartphones. The U.S. wireless carrier will use Starlink satellites owned by SpaceX’s Elon Musk to give mobile users network access in parts of the United States, the companies announced in August 2022.
