Spotify to cut 1,500 employees in third round of layoffs this year
Music streaming giant Spotify said on Monday it would lay off about 1,500 employees, or 17% of its headcount, to cut costs after laying off 600 of its staff in January and another 200 in June. After a series of job cuts at tech companies earlier in the year, some have begun cutting their workforces again, with announcements coming from Amazon to Microsoft-owned LinkedIn.
