Taylor Swift to Drop ‘Carolina’ Today

The singer announced on social media the release of the ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ song today.

Taylor Swift is releasing ‘Carolina’, her special track for the ‘Where The Crawdads Sing’, tonight, as it was announced on the star’s social media. The song arrives in advance of the film’s debut in theatres, set for July 15.

‘Carolina’ was recorded with instruments from the early 1950’s, the period in which the first part of the film takes place. “The first time I listened to it, I just started bawling and I said, ‘I don’t know what’s happening to me right now.’ I mean, I love singing along to Taylor Swift songs but I never cry like this,” said director Olivia Newman.

“She read this book and loved it so much, and then she heard we were making a movie [during the period] she was making her ‘Folklore’ album and then she wrote a song with that whole ‘Folklore’ team, which was so haunting and magical and beautiful,” said Reese Witherspoon, the film’s producer.

“I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story,” wrote Taylor Swift back in March, when the collaboration was first revealed.
