Tech giants urge Malaysia to pause plan to licence social media platforms
An Asian industry group that includes Google, Meta and X has asked the Malaysian government to pause a plan that would require social networking services to apply for a licence. In July, Malaysia’s communications regulator said social networking platforms with more than eight million users in the country would be required to apply for a licence.
