More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since 7 October, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. That number represents about 1.3 per cent of the territory’s 2.3 million population – the latest grim indicator of the terrible toll of this war. The ministry says most of those killed were women and children.
