The European Patent Office has invalidated a contested mRNA patent owned by Moderna, the office said Tuesday, handing a victory to BioNTech and its partner Pfizer in a patent dispute between the two makers of a coronavirus vaccine. Moderna said that it disagrees with the office’s decision and will appeal.
