The sci-fi action film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire got off to a great start at the US box office, grossing $45.2 million ($61.6 million worldwide) and surpassing the previous film in the franchise ($44.01 million). The box office receipts of this release increased the franchise’s total worldwide box office receipts to more than $1 billion.
