The number of people affected by the earthquake in Taiwan has surpassed 1,000

Six people are stranded in a mining district after Taiwan’s strongest earthquake in 25 years. The death toll from Wednesday’s magnitude 7.2 quake rose to 10 and the number of injured reached 1,067, authorities said, while most of the estimated 50 hotel workers stranded on a highway on their way to a resort in a national park were recovered.
