U.S. has ‘about 18 months’ to create bird flu vaccine
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has “about 18 months” to create a vaccine for the current strain of bird flu and develop a process for distributing it, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said Wednesday. The USDA has detected bird flu in eight commercial and 14 homesteads this year, affecting 530,000 domestic birds, the agency said.
