U.S. House of Representatives votes to suspend Republican leader
Kevin McCarthy has been ousted in a right-wing revolt – the first time in history that a speaker of the US House of Representatives has lost a vote of no confidence. The final result was 216-210, which removed the congressman from his position as leader of the Republican majority in the lower house of Congress.
