UK sea level rise is accelerating

Sea levels are rising much faster than a century ago, according to the Met Office’s annual look at climate and weather in the UK. Sea levels have risen by about 16.5 cm since 1990, but the rate of rising is reported to be increasing. Now they are growing at 3-5.2 mm per year. This exposes more and more parts of the coast to powerful storm surges and winds, damaging the environment and homes.
