US FDA approves drug for kidney disease for children

The US Food and Drug Administration has approved Benlysta for the treatment of kidney disease in children aged 5 to 17 years. The approval makes Benlysta the first drug to be approved by the U.S. regulatory agency for children with lupus nephritis, a type of inflammation of the kidneys.
