WNBA to add Portland as franchise

The WNBA will add another West Coast team: Portland will become the league’s 15th franchise. The team, which has yet to be named, will join the league in 2026. It will be the second time Portland has hosted a WNBA franchise, as the Fire joined the league in 2000 and disbanded in 2002.
