Alexander Zverev has not given up hope of playing the US Open, but following his ankle injury, the German is more likely to return to action during the Davis Cup Finals group stage in mid-September. Zverev was injured during his French Open semi-final against Rafael Nadal and underwent surgery on torn ligaments in his right ankle last month.
