Earthquakes in Afghanistan kill 2,445 people
More than 2,400 people have been killed in earthquakes in Afghanistan, the Taliban administration said Sunday, the deadliest tremors to shake the quake-prone mountainous country in years. Saturday’s quakes in the west of the country struck 35 kilometres (20 miles) northwest of the city of Herat, with a magnitude of 6.3, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
