EU intends to recommend deep cuts in CO2 emissions to meet the climate target 

The European Commission is poised on Tuesday to recommend that the EU cut net greenhouse gas emissions by 90 per cent by 2040. The target will test the political appetite for continuing Europe’s ambitious fight against climate change ahead of EU elections.
