The Israeli military has withdrawn all but one brigade of ground troops from the southern Gaza Strip, an army spokesman said Sunday. The military did not immediately provide additional information. It was unclear whether the withdrawal would delay the long-threatened invasion of the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, which Israeli leaders say is necessary to eliminate Hamas.
