Julian Assange temporarily cleared of extradition to the US
The extradition of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the United States from Britain was put on hold after the High Court in London said the US must give assurances that he will not face the death penalty. US prosecutors intend to try Assange on 18 charges related to the publication of confidential US military files and diplomatic cables.
