More than 150 people rescued from flooding in eastern Australia
Australian authorities on Saturday said 152 people had been rescued from flooding in the eastern state of New South Wales after heavy rains triggered a warning to residents to move to higher ground. Authorities said 72 rescues were carried out in the state capital Sydney, Australia’s largest city, where several low-lying suburbs were hit by dangerous flooding.
