Niagara declares state of emergency as a precaution ahead of rare eclipse
Canada’s Niagara region has declared a state of emergency ahead of a rare total solar eclipse on 8 April, which is expected to draw crowds around the falls. The state of emergency is “to safeguard the health and safety of residents and visitors and protect our critical infrastructure in any scenario that may arise”.
