Record wildfires hit Venezuela during Amazon climate drought
Venezuela is battling a record number of wildfires as climate change-induced drought hits the Amazon rainforest region, according to data released on Monday. Satellites recorded more than 30,200 fire hotspots in Venezuela between January and March, the highest level during that period since records began in 1999.
