“Renaissance: the Beyoncé film” became the box office leader

The premiere of Renaissance: a Beyoncé film has taken the top spot at the US box office, grossing $21.8 million in a typically anaemic first weekend of December, according to research firm Comscore. According to Comscore, Beyoncé Knowles’ concert film became the first film to break the $20 million mark this weekend since 2003’s “The Last Samurai” starring Tom Cruise.
