The U.S. FDA has approved Vanda Pharmaceuticals’ drug for the treatment of manic and mixed episodes associated with a type of bipolar disorder, the company said Tuesday, marking the second approval of the treatment. Shares of the Washington, D.C.-based company jumped 16% in after-hours trading.
