US FDA approves first treatment for severe frostbite
The US Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved Eicos Sciences’ injection, making it the first-ever treatment for severe frostbite in adults. The drug, which will help reduce the risk of amputation, will be marketed under the brand name Aurlumyn and is expected to go on sale in spring 2024, although its price has not yet been determined, the company said in an emailed statement.
